This Land is Our Land

In an intimate and homelike settling on 3/4 acre of urban farmland, Austin kids gather each week to learn and work together in a garden paradise.  These young community leaders are learning how to achieve success in a classroom rich with information: their own backyard!  We are nature-based, community-driven, grown with love and supported by parents.  Our blend of responsible life teachings alongside academic skills makes us unique among other foundational programs.  Come visit Julia's Garden for a tour or for one of our parent education programs and see for yourself just what we have "growing on" over here!

Julia’s Garden teaches important life skills with a Montessori approach using materials found in nature. Created with the intention of giving parents helpful tools and communication to aid their child's development, Julia’s Garden is named in loving memory of Julia Elaine who, through this program, will help to guide us in fostering a generation of gentle, well-educated and environmentally-aware leaders.

Academic Curriculum

Picture
Our highly trained teachers have built our curriculum from Montessori roots.  We are recognized by AMITOT (Association Montessori Internationale Teachers of Texas) and dually accredited by ICARE (international Council for the Accreditation of Relationship-Based Education) and TAAPS (Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools).  Our academics extend through the elementary years, meeting or exceeding milestones set by TEKS readiness standards.  We ensure a complete academic experience held to the highest of both local and international standards.

Community garden days, parent education classes, wellness counseling, PTA, fundraising events and our online Parent Portal are just some of the ways that we bring students, parents and staff together in a combined effort to build a more sustainable and peaceful world.

"The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope that humanity can develop in a new direction."
